Putting ourselves first doesn’t always come naturally, but when we make our health a priority, that’s exactly what we’re doing. Because nothing says ‘ultimate me time’ more than working on our physical and mental wellbeing. Take a look at what’s trending fitness wise for 2019. Workout motivational playlist on? Good, then let’s go!
Wear it well
Take a look around you. Literally, everyone from colleagues to your nan are wearing some kind of tech that makes their fitness workouts more efficient and effective. From smart watches and trackers to heart rate monitors and GPS devices, they let us set goals, monitor progress and see real results. Wear yours with pride!
Training in a group is having a bit of a moment. We humans like nothing more than finding our tribes, including those we train with. You can’t beat that community feel when exercising with like-minded people in a safe, fun and effective environment. From boot camp to a dance, cardio or spin class, get your sweat on with others like never before!
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
For time-poor and time-commitment phobes everywhere, this is workout heaven. With HIIT you get an effective and efficient workout in less than 20 minutes, and it’s simple too –
high-intensity bouts of exercise alternated with short periods of rest that maximise calorie burn and cardiorespiratory (in half the time of slow and steady cardio). Basically, it means each workout will be hard and effective but quick. Bring on the burn!
Let’s get personal
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, working one-on-one with a personal trainer is a great investment for your health. Apart from anything else, PTs’ expertise makes it all about you; from devising programmes that meet your needs and goals, to making sure you do the moves correctly, effectively and safely. Put it this way, there’s no reason to get an injury when you have a PT watching your back (and front).
Apps & Abs
Mobile exercise apps and workout videos are popular for a very big reason. Easy to access and free (mostly), they’re the one form of training that targets why we often skip workouts in the first place. Yep, you got it – time! As much as we’d like our day to revolve around a gym visit or run, it’s just not reality. And what could be easier than streaming workouts from your own home, where you can do anything from yoga to HIIT and strength training. Home workout for women can make all the difference for those with a lot going on. A.K.A; you.
