What is it?
Magnesium is a mineral in the body that’s naturally present in many foods. It’s absorbed from the soil by plants, which in turn we eat. Avocados, legumes and nuts, are excellent sources. And don’t get us started on spinach benefits where magnesium is concerned!
How does it act on the body?
Magnesium plays an important role in supporting a healthy nervous system and muscle function. As part of a healthy diet plan for women, it also helps to maintain healthy bones. Yep, we know, is there anything it can’t do?
How much do I need?
For healthy adults, UK guidelines recommend 270mg magnesium per day for females and 300mg for males.
